Pygmalion

“I fear being like everyone I hate, I fear failure, I fear losing control. I love balancing between chaos and control with everything I do. I always have a fear of going one way or another, getting lost in something, or losing everything to get lost in. And I fear being a completely acceptable sheep in society.”

It’s incredible how much we can agree with an idea prior to realizing its origin. The vegetarian will gorge and feed until they discover their delicious veggie bacon came out of a pig. They’ll curse the very thing they loved. It’s easier to curse something you secretly love than it is to be honest with yourself and love it. Sin is like this. Love is like this. People are like this. The loudest person is usually the one with the most to hide.

In every civilization, there had to be the first daring individual who ate the legendary poison fruit and lived to tell about it. Without those daring individuals, we’d never have tomatos for dinner or mushrooms to bread and serve. Maybe there were also dozens of individuals who risked their entire neck so that others may enjoy the benefit of their risk/reward. However, maybe these individuals were so determined to accomplish something new that they disregarded both the possibility of death and also the disgusting fact that many people would eat their fill of something they had done nothing to deserve.
